& INTERACTIVE INSERT

I was brought onto this project at a halfway point. The album had already been out digitally and received a San Diego music award for best blues album, it was given an Apple Music plaque for debuting at #1 on the Blues charts, and was nominated for Grammy consideration, so the cover couldn't change. Because of the album's success, the label decided on moving forward with actually pressing the album.
There was now an opportunity to reinvigorate excitement about the album by thinking of something cool and engaging to do with the poster insert. It also needed a center label for the album itself. During a session of ideation to come up with a plan for the insert, we got hungry. We ordered In-n-Out as one often does on the west coast. This started a conversation about the secret menu. Thus, in our need for cheeseburgers, an idea was born. What followed was the artist finding chefs on both sides of the country who wanted to partake in the fun. 

So now, six chefs will be offering secret menu items based on song titles for a limited time after the album's release.
But you can't just type up a secret menu and slip it in the packaging. No. You have to spend a million hours painting together a million stock images with a million layers of paint in procreate to hide the chef's names and corresponding song titles into a scene of a seedy bar for wolves. The insert measures 11x22 inches and is now in production at Third Man Records. Physical copies of Howl & Sway will be available in late Fall 2025.
